I tried a couple of other books for ENT, as I find ENT a difficult topic, and this is by far the best ENT book. Perfect amount of information, not too much, not too little, and it is really easy to read with great explanations!

The lecture notes series has been a very popular set of titles for medical students who are looking for a concise source of information on specific areas of medicine without the full depth of a textbook or the brevity of a revision title.

This ENT title has been greatly revised in it’s 11th edition compared to it’s previous to bring it inline with the modern series format which I feel has greatly enhanced the book. The advantages of this title are that there are a decent number of diagrams and images within the title that are of a high quality which makes learning the content much easier. Most of the 39 chapters are in themselves fairly short and with the size of the book being smaller than that of other titles in the series, it makes reading a chapter much easier. The new website that accompanies this title allows the print version to remain shorter but also adds; chapter summaries, recommended reading links and possibly most usefully interactive questions and answers. An area that I feel this title could have been improved is to have made the images and diagrams available online through the website to download or view at a higher quality/larger size.

Otherwise I have found this title to be useful, I did not extensively use it in the revision for my medical finals but when covering ENT it was a useful read alongside other sources such as ENT at a Glance. For this reason if your university library has this title in stock and you are looking to revise ENT, I would strongly recommend you give this title a try.
