A shooting star falls to Earth in the Kingdom Macronesia.

King Richard VIII finds a tiny, sentient person in a microspacecraft when he uses a powerful microscope to study the stardust. Professor Nanoroo arrived to Earth from the planet Nano in order to study human biotechnology. He speaks with “Earthlings” out of curiosity, asking them hundreds of questions about their lives.

Nanoroo meets yeasts that cause bread and beer, bacteria that cause illness and those that maintain health, and fungi that produce antibacterial medications. He has a lot of adventures, saves the king’s brother from a heart attack, checks King Richard’s blood sugar levels and the health of his racehorses, observes plants that ward off insects, and consumes the well-known, vitamin-rich “Golden Rice.”

My wife is responsible for nursing education at a major teaching hospital and she is very impressed with this text book. It is clear, well presented and thorough. It is at the standard of most of the standard texts using in nursing and is quite a weighty tome.

It contains all of the current thinking on nurse practise and gives you links to websites so that you can see what the latest thinking is on many topics (nursing care is not a static subject). It will act as a good reference for those entering nursing practise for the many assignments and portfolios you have to put together and help experienced nurses stay current.

Got this for a friend who has just entered into the world of nursing as a trainee mid-wife. She was very grateful to receive this and has told me she’s been using it for the many many assignments that she has to do on top of working some long hours. From looking through it, as a teacher, its got a good balance of method, application and diagrams in clear set sections that read really easily. Its weighty, but then it to support those people have to carry so much info in their head on a daily basis and made good informed decisions too. A good book.

Expertly written by those in the know and worth investing in this book as it would definitely prove to be a vital resource for medical knowledge. Each section is well thought out.

Well laid out and constructed with lots of additional advice and cross-referencing.

A concise yet comprehensive textbook, ‘Nursing Practice: Knowledge and Care’ is a paperback (slightly smaller than A4) book, with a clear layout and accessible yet detailed content. The book is of interest to people working in related fields, not just nursing students (care assistants, for example), and is very well presented.

Scary Cases in Otolaryngology PDF Free Download

The case-based methodology of Scary Cases in Otolaryngology emphasizes decision-making, errors, and “near misses” in the treatment of patients with head and neck conditions. Because it provides challenging situations and fosters discussion about clinical therapy, prevention, and the ethical and legal implications of those instances, this is a priceless tool for otolaryngologists. Prospective and experienced otolaryngologists can evaluate their own practices and the work of their colleagues to consistently advance a more secure and healthy work environment for their patients. An expansion of Boston University School of Medicine’s yearly Scary Cases Conference is Scary Cases in Otolaryngology.

The goal of the 2011-started conference is to enhance patient safety by tackling difficult and contentious situations that have higher risk, complications, and poor results. The book contains a selection of cases that were presented at prior conferences. Otolaryngology’s Scary Cases answers queries like: Did you make a false diagnosis before determining the proper one? Do you think that even though you followed all the right procedures, the results were not satisfactory? Did a patient have a significant illness that was challenging to identify? Were there any significant complexities?Have you faced a challenging moral conundrum?Did you have to address a condition that was not within your area of expertise? This novel text presents instructors from prestigious medical schools with clinical case material and their learning narratives. Experts in medical malpractice and malpractice liability insurance are also among the contributors. The examples in these “scary cases” will be helpful to practicing otolaryngologists, otolaryngology trainees, malpractice attorneys, law students, otolaryngology nurse practitioners, and primary care physicians. 2.0 out of 5 stars This book isn’t a very good genetics textbook in my opinion

This book isn’t a very good genetics textbook in my opinion. The concepts are so disorganized and make no logical sense especially for undergraduate students trying to connect the basics with harder conceptual ideas. Also, it is text heavy with only a few pictures that in themselves are hard to understand and conceptualize. This makes each chapter harder to read and makes it hard to retain the muddled information.

lett rr “This is a great review for those who were out of touch in special procedures. I know I am. The information just became second nature to me the anatomy and pathology shown in these pages are good review.”

peridot “Nina Winchester has it all. The Perfect house. A gorgeous husband who is so kind and rich. She even has a cute little girl. She decides to interview and eventually hire Millie for a live in nanny/housekeeper position.

Millie applies for this “dream job” to be the housekeeper/maid for the Winchesters. It is a live in position with amazing pay. Too good to be true. Well, she should have listened to that feeling. Nina is a horrible boss and treats her like dirt, the sweet little girl isn’t very sweet and has an attitude problem. The only person in this house she can relate to is the husband Andrew.

When Millie takes the job, Nina is ecstatic and takes Millie to her new room. It is small, very small but better the sleeping in her car, which is what she has been doing for the past month or so. The only weird thing is the lock is on the outside, but Nina explains this used to be a storage facility. Millie then noticed scratches near the door on the wall…she has no idea what happened in that room before she was hired, the horrors she is about to face and that NOTHING is as It seems.

This book will leave you shaken, terrified, disgusted and at the same time wanting more. I couldn’t help but keep reading despite the revelations that come and it will have you thinking the worst about those seemingly perfect spouses.”

MarCI “I didn’t read The Housemaid, I inhaled it. Who’s gaslighting whom? I felt like I was inside that Ingrid Bergman movie constantly switching my emotions as McFadden toys with clues that are not readily picked up. But it all comes together in the end. Instead of alternating chapters back and forth between Millie and Nina, she delivers a complete sense of each character and the way she writes it is brilliant. The Housemaid does what many thrillers don’t – presents you with a “I don’t know who I am routing for anymore now.” The book from the very beginning had me invested with loyalty issues as if these are real people. There’s one scene where I started biting my nails and I haven’t done that since I was seven years old. My heart was palpitating with fear as if I suddenly escaped into the book and became that character. Terrified. I won’t tell you who or I’ll spoil it for you. There are twists galore-so many and then Freida McFadden does what she does best- she leaves the best for last –yes up until that very last line, be on your toes and keep the lights on. 5 stars+”

Bettyboop “OMG!!!!!! WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! This story had it all. I did not want to put it down and now that I’m finished with it I want to read it again. This is one of Frieda’s best books yet and that is saying something because all of them are amazing. This one blew my mind. I love her writing style and the way she ratchets up the tension by keeping you guessing and then second guessing what you guessed and then finding out you were wrong about everything you thought you knew. Lol. If you have to choose one psychological suspense to read this year this is it!!!! It is hands down the best book I have read in a long time and that is saying something because I read all the time. Bravo Frieda McFadden you have outdone yourself.”
