Description of The ARRL Ham Radio License PDF
The ARRL Ham Radio License is the highest level of amateur radio license you can receive. It is required to operate most Amateur Radio Service frequencies. The ARRL Ham Radio License PDF is a electronic document that outlines the requirements for obtaining this license.
To obtain an ARRL Ham Radio License, you must first pass an Amateur Radio Examination (ATE). The ATE covers topics such as frequency allocation, safety and operating regulations.
ARRL the National Association for Amateur Radio is the largest membership association for the amateur radio hobby and service in the US. For over 100 years, we have been the primary source of information about amateur radio, offering a variety of benefits and services to our members, as well as the larger amateur radio community. We publish books on amateur radio, as well as four magazines covering a variety of radio communication interests. In addition, we provide technical advice and assistance to amateur radio enthusiasts, support several education programs, and sponsor a variety of operating events.
One of the primary benefits we offer to the ham radio community is in representing the interests of amateur radio operators before federal regulatory bodies advocating for meaningful access to the radio spectrum. ARRL also serves as the international secretariat of the International Amateur Radio Union, which performs a similar role internationally, advocating for amateur radio interests before the International Telecommunication Union and the World Radiocommunication Conference.
Today, we proudly serve nearly 160,000 members, both in the US and internationally, through our national headquarters and flagship amateur radio station, W1AW, in Newington, Connecticut. Every year we welcome thousands of new licensees to our membership, and we hope you will join us. Let us be a part of your amateur radio journey. Visit arrl.org/join for more information.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy Only the Spiral-Bound Version
Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2019
I bought this on Kindle but found that studying from that format is fraught with difficulty. If you want to learn this material, buy the spiral-bound version which you can highlight and jump around in. You’ll have to go back and forth to the review questions at the back, and that’s a pain with the Kindle format. The material in the book is first-rate and well presented. See you on the air.

1.0 out of 5 stars KINDLE REVIEW ONLY
Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2020
I highly suggest you do NOT buy the kindle version of this book. I can’t read any of the diagrams and many of the charts easily, particularly the schematics section of the book. I bought this to refresh some old knowledge since I’m already a licensed HAM radio operator, and I cannot suggest highly enough to purchase the PAPERBACK version of this book to prepare for your exam. Good luck and try to have fun, HAM radio is awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars The bible of Ham Radio

I would say this is the bible of Technician class Ham radio. It will not only help you take the exam but will enlighten you about all the facets of Ham Radio. You treat this book the way a scout treats the scouting handbook.

Passed the exam a day earlier than I was supposed to take it… absolutely consider this the best resource and system. I really liked that the Kindle version lets you jump to the actual test questions are you are reading the background info, adding context and increasing memorization.

4.0 out of 5 stars Had to buy a Hard Copy Manual

The book is written just as the hard copy notebook. But, the note book in hard copy with rings is something this old timer needed to study. I take my Ham Technician Exam in a week (and expect to pass).

Good study manual for taking the test, but you need to be sure it is updated for the latest date to match the testing period as it changes I think every 4 years.

Need to get an upgrade from General Class? This is the book I used along with on-line applications to get my Extra Class the same night as I tested for General. Also, it is a great reference book to have in your ham shack.
5.0 out of 5 stars Official ARRL manual

I used the Kindle version to study for and pass the technician class license exam. Particularly using Kindle for PC, it is easy to jump to related exam questions from any section of the text. Manual contains the entire exam question pool.
