User Reviews

  1. This is a good book to act as a first pass reminder of what you learned in medical school. I found myself realising it didn’t go into much detail about important aspects of physiology and I had to go look it up in old text books. Ill use it
  2. Excellent revision-focused textbook that emphasises the links between basic science and clinical medicine. Its succinct style and clear explanations make this book an efficient learning resource. The tables are especially good as they cover everything you need to know about each topic in a clear, easy-to-learn format. The book is set to cover basic medical science at the level of the MRCP, but would also be really useful for interested clinical medical students or doctors at other levels.

‘It is absolutely excellent and I shall recommend it strongly to the participants at all my MRCP courses.’ Geraint James MA, MD, FRCP – Visiting Professor of Medicine. ‘This book distills the most relevant facts in an easy-to-read format. If you are preparing for MRCP Part 1 and you have little time (like most of us), you definitely need this book.

The best revision book for the MRCP. Its both concise and comprehensive, whereas most books tend to be one at the expense of the other. Highly recommended. (PASTEST)

User Reviews

Well written and comprehensive book. Good for some revision while studying, but not just before the actual exam.
However, this would not be very useful if you sit the exam in the currant format.
Some chapters (for example, the one on statistics) would need a work up.
The quality of printing and biding is good. Would last for a few years without a doubt.
If I am very honest, you could better invest your money on online resources done by leading companies.
Actually there are very few books which would help in the MRCP Part 1 and all have been superseded by online resources.
