User Reviews

  1. This book is very good as the first start of medical student as it contain enough information for the basics of anatomy of the CNS.
When I want to review brain anatomy I always returns to it as it is easy to read and remember with its beautiful illustrations for the pathways and good gross anatomy pictures.
I am not saying it is Carpenter neuroanatomy but it is quite enough for the basics like USMLE.
Very nice book since I followed it in 1989-1990 till now.
  2. Dr Snell was my best basic science teacher, by far, during my first year of medical school. He had the true gift of relating basic science to clinical scenarios and we all learned much from our time with him. I own a copy of most books he wrote and learn much from his writings whenever I choose to study them.

5 STAR REVIEW FROM DOODY’S
“This is a book for all students of medicine no matter their level of experience.”
“…the leading comprehensive authority in internal medicine.”
ReviewerVincent Carr, DO, MSA, FACC, FACP (Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences)
DescriptionFor internal medicine specialists, Harrison’s has been the go-to reference on the current understanding of pathophysiology for decades. This 20th edition updates the 19th edition published in 2012.
PurposeThe purpose remains the same: to provide a comprehensive, up-to-date reference for learners throughout their careers, from medical students through experienced attending physicians and consultants.
AudienceThis is a book for all students of medicine no matter their level of experience. The authors have brought together the most knowledgeable and experienced experts to review the latest updates from the journal literature to provide a foundation for the practice of medicine.
FeaturesThe book is divided into 20 parts that cover broad topics such as the profession of medicine, cardinal manifestations and presentation of disease, oncology and hematology, immune-mediated, inflammatory, and rheumatological diseases, and disorders associated with environmental exposures. The parts are further divided into specific topic sections, such as pain, therapy for bacterial disease, neurologic critical care. Finally, these sections are subdivided into chapters covering conditions such as urticaria, angioedema, and allergic rhinitis, with lists of further reading suggestions. Throughout the book, there are a great number of full-color figures, algorithms, and intuitive tables to support the text. As readers become familiar with the book’s format, it is very easy to use the pertinent patient management algorithm in the front cover page that refers them directly to the relevant page. There is also a listing of available videos; supplemental topics, such as microbial bioterrorism, technique of lumbar puncture; and atlases of rashes, oral manifestations of disease, and electrocardiography. An electronic version of the book is available for separate purchase through the AccessMedicine website, which allows a 30-day trial subscription.AssessmentThis new edition continues the outstanding history of this book as the leading comprehensive authority in internal medicine.

  1. I was really excited to see the edition of this classic text book. I was hoping to read all cutting edge information. The price of the kindle edition is almost the same as physical book but none of the videos or other supplemental material is available to the buyers unless they subscribe to access medicine. To test how recent the updates were, I tested out the subject of hypertension. Although the current hypertension guidelines were published in October 2017, this edition published in second half of 2018 still does not mention them and uses old classification of hypertension from 2003. I wonder if other topics have the same fate. So I can’t trust the latest edition to get the latest information.
  2. One of the best and the go to resource for Internal Medicine and the 20th edition is only better. The eChapters from the previous edition have been converted to print format which is similar to the format followed prior to the 19th edition. Using sources like Uptodate is great for point of care refresh of knowledge and revision but this is a textbook which will help build a solid foundation of knowledge which is critical to any practicing physician. Before anyone says that it is too voluminous, know that most medical students and residents in India finish this book cover to cover before graduating from residency.

For more than 25 years, Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain and Spine 5th edition pdf free download has been the leading textbook on imaging diagnosis of brain and spine disorders. The Fifth Edition continues this tradition of excellence with thorough coverage of recent trends and changes in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of CNS diseases, and how those changes relate to MRI findings. It remains a comprehensive, state-of-the-art reference for all who have an interest in neuroradiology – trainees to experts in the field, basic science researchers, and clinicians.
Key Features:
Shows how to generate state-of-the-art images and define diagnoses from crucial clinical/pathologic MR imaging correlations for neurologic, neurosurgical, and psychiatric diseases spanning fetal CNS anomalies to disorders of the ageing brain.
Explains new imaging methodology (hardware- and software-based) in a variety of clinical settings.
Discusses emerging, clinically relevant research in well-established neurologic disorders such as stroke and brain tumours, as well as developing clinical applications in non-traditional areas, including neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders and fetal anomalies.

Analyzes the detail of clinically important imaging findings; defines the role of MRI findings in the clinical setting of neurologic disease; illustrates the pathologic basis for MRI findings, and explores the use of emerging MRI methods as new contributions to diagnosis and treatment.

Emphasizes that the diagnosis of neurologic disease must still be grounded in evidence and based on “the known” – neuropathology, genetics, clinical history, and proven imaging findings – rather than on new techniques often used solely because they are novel.
Presents the combined knowledge and expertise of renowned neuroradiologists, innovative MRI physicists, and experienced leading clinical neuro specialists from all over the world.

Imaging plays an integral role in the diagnosis and intervention of debilitating, often fatal vascular diseases of the brain, such as ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). Written by a world renowned neuro-radiologist and pioneer in the early adoption of magnetic resonance (MR) technology, Imaging of Cerebrovascular Disease is a concise yet remarkably thorough textbook that advances the reader’s expertise on this subject.

The text draws on the author’s vast personal experience, case studies, and traditional educational sources, offering didactic dialogue with accompanying images. A practical clinical resource organized into six chapters, this book offers unparalleled breadth in delineating the diagnostic and treatment usages of modern imaging techniques. Chapter one sets a foundation with extensive coverage of modalities and their applications, including MR, computed tomography (CT) and digital subtraction angiography (DSA). Subsequent chapters cover utilization of imaging techniques specific to underlying pathologies.

The Comorehensive Neurosurgery Board Preparation Book PDF Download:2021

In this post, we have shared an overview and download link of The Comorehensive Neurosurgery Board Preparation Book PDF. Read the overview below and download using links given at the end of the post.

Board certification by the American Board of Neurological Surgery is considered the gold standard for neurosurgeons practicing in the U.S. The ABNS primary examination requires many months of preparation, and passing it is both a significant accomplishment and integral component in becoming board certified. Contributions from current neurosurgical residents and seasoned practitioners infuse this book with a well-rounded perspective. Having been there and done that, the authors incorporated what they felt was missing from board review books when they sat for the exam – resulting in a “bucket list†study guide.

The review is organized by neurosurgical topic with 20 chapters equally divided among questions followed by answers. Starting with physiology and anatomy, each chapter methodically covers core topics including radiology, neurology, pathology/histology, ophthalmology, and more. The authors provide brief explanations and pearls that accompany each question, which provide a solid springboard for delving deeper into any given topic. The easy-to-follow format enables residents to partake in long study sessions or tackle just a question or two in the midst of a busy day of neurosurgical service.

Features of The Comprehensive Neurosurgery Board Preparation Book: Illustrated Questions and Answers PDF:

  • More than 1,300 questions reflect key concepts in the ABNS primary exam
  • Enhanced with more than 350 images, most in color, which reflect the computerized, image-rich format of the current exam
  • A full-length practice test at the end of the book mirrors the cadence and time constraints of the actual exam
  • Explanations of correct and incorrect answers facilitate learning and retaining vast amounts of material

This comprehensive board review book will help neurosurgical residents of all levels prepare thoroughly for the March exam. It is a one-stop self-assessment tool for any neurosurgeon who endeavors to attain and maintain ABNS certification.
