Essential Haematology 6th Edition PDF Free Download
Almost 70 years later, haematology still continues to be at the forefront of medical advances. Th e increased understanding of blood diseases particularly their genetic basis and changes in their treatment is such that in writing this new edition, substantial changes have been necessary throughout. Th e classifi cation of the neoplasms of the haemopoietic and lymphoid diseases has been revised by WHO (2008) and the names and defi nitions of many of these diseases have changed. Clinical features, genetics and immunophenotype are increasingly used to defi ne biological entities. We have made changes in all the relevant chapters but, in a book intended primarily for undergraduates, we have simplifi ed some of the classifi cation tables and omitted detailed descriptions of rare diseases. On the other hand, some tests e.g. red cell survival and vitamin B 12 absorption studies have become obsolete and are now omitted. As previously, we have used a colour line in the margin to indicate text that we consider more advanced than is needed for under graduate medical students and more appropriate for postgraduates. John Pettit, co – author on all fi ve previous editions, has retired from authorship for this edition. Much of the success of the book when it fi rst appeared 30 years ago and in all fi ve previous editions has been due to John ’ s ability to write clear, concise descriptions of the various diseases, and to produce fi rst – class photomicrographs and line diagrams to illustrate the text. Many of these images appear in this latest edition. Th e diff erent aspects of iron overload are now merged into a new chapter and we have separated chapters on acute myeloid and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. We have also introduced summary boxes at the end of each chapter to summarise the contents and added multiple choice questions to the website both at undergraduate and at a more advanced level to help in self – learning. Th e book ’ s website will be updated annually.

User Reviews for Current Diagnosis and Treatment Cardiology fifth Edition PDF
Well written. Reasonably detailed without being overwhelming. Some chapters like cardiac amyloidosis, adult congenital heart disease (for example) were too superficial for a cardiology fellow, but are probably adequate for internal medicine. Good as a review book and also if you want to look up stuff quickly. It’s one step above a manual in that the explanations are quite detailed.
Excellent book properly describes the disease etc
Bad produc. Never come home.
It is quite readable.

User Reviews For Current Diagnosis and Treatment Critical Care 3rd Edition PDF
This book is very good, I am a pulmonary and critical care fellow starting my fellowship and I needed a book to start with. very nice book, easy approach, explain physiology and gives practical information. more than enough for medical students. very great for resident or fellows
Difficult subject matter, but this book breaks critical care topics down making the subjects enjoyable to read! Helpful for new PAs entering the ICU.
I am liking this book. Its a bit broad in subject matter obviously but still good reading. Its a nice reference to have at home. Usually I find myself looking stuff up after I get home from taking care of an especially sick patient. If you work in critical care I would reccommend this book.

nutcha yodrabum “After having read this marvelous copy, this book is highly recommended for those plastic surgery residents and other residents in related fields in facial surgery and rejuvenation. Due to the fact that it is the easiest and quickest approach to grasp the main content at the same level as those experts. I found that the content in each section is systematically presented with well-structured moves. This facilitates us to progressively understand those sophisticated issues easily. Apart from this, this book is appropriate for plastic surgeons and those related medical specialists who aim to update their knowledge with high standards and be well-equipped with the most up-to-date issues.Compared with the book of which title was shared decades ago, I found a number of distinctive issues presented in this current book. For instance, in terms of anatomy, the previous concerns were about the facial nerve and the sensory nerve. It has shifted and highlighted on the vascular network. In case of operation/ procedure which used to focus only the facial surgery procedure (eg. facelift ) to both of the surgical and the non-surgical facial rejuvenation. This point includes filler and botulinum toxin injection. These have been received a lot of attention currently. The authors also step forward to the energy device issues and so forth. They are generous enough to share their valuable and meticulous experiences which cannot be found elsewhere.
On top of that, the main contributors are the world-leading and world authority plastic surgeon who has been widely recognized across the world. They are also a highly proficient person with expertise not only in the surgery but also in the non-surgical aesthetic procedures. According to this book, the authors evidentially demonstrates the high academic standard.
What I am impressed a great deal with this book are their fascinating illustrations, VDO, and cadaveric dissection. Those pictures are not only that beauty but also revealing a smart presentation method. These enable us to understand the content, particularly on focusing on the plane of various structures.
The book is worth buying.”
Amazon Customer “This book is a must read for any plastic surgeon performing facelifts, necklifts, ablative and non-ablative laser surgery, Chemical peels, cryolipolysis, fillers, microneedling and radiofrequency. It clearly and precisely delineates the anatomy of the nerves, arteries and veins to avoid during these procedures for ultimate patient safety. The illustrations are superb. Dr Rohrich and Dr Stuzin are to be commended for this timeless masterpiece.”
A. Rodriguez “PHENOMENAL and detailed diagrams, anatomic drawings, photographs, and videos are included in this textbook to help the reader understand the facial danger zones. The expert authors provide concise descriptions of the facial danger zones and how to STAY SAFE during facial aesthetic surgery, when injecting fillers & neurotoxins, as well as while using other modalities like laser, microneedling, and peels. This is a must-have!!!”
yash “Facial danger zones is a comprehensive text focusing on facial anatomy as it relates to both surgical and non-surgical facial aesthetic surgery. The illustrations are superb and the authors have really provided clarity on areas that we’re not well described in the literature. If you are performing any type of facial aesthetic surgery, specifically facelifts, I highly recommend you read this book! It is truly knowledge from the masters. You won’t regret it.”

Harwood Nuss Clinical Practice of Emergency Medicine PDF
Organized for easy reference, this comprehensive, concise, and clinically focused text covers all aspects of emergency medicine. Chapters follow a consistent, structured format—clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, evaluation, management, and disposition with highlighted critical interventions and common pitfalls.
In this edition, the Pain and Pain Management section is now at the front of the book, since a large percentage of emergency department patients present with pain-related complaints. The Trauma section now follows the High-Risk Chief Complaint section. A new two-color design will help readers find critical elements of each chapter easily.
A companion Website will include the fully searchable text, more than 400 self-assessment questions with answers, and additional images and tables.
Description of Harwood Nuss Clinical Practice of emergency medicine
there are 3 major EM textbooks out there. Harwood Nuss Clinical Practice of emergency medicine , Tintinalli, Rosens. Rosens is the bible. very well written. very lengthy. good review of mechanisms. it takes its time and teaches well. if you can read it all you will be solid. Tintinalli was originally the only alternative to Rosens. a faster review of the topics, but less well written and seemed to just jam facts and information at you without much cohesiveness. some topics covered better than others. Harwood-Nuss written as an alternative to Tintinalli and now in my opinion the best reference book out there. well written like Rosens but more concise. This is the one to get if you are to only pick one. BOTTOM LINE? strongly recommend for the EM resident. if you wish to get a book for your EM rotation, consider emergency medicine secrets instead. that is plenty to kick butt during the rotation.
As an Emergency Medicine resident, the textbooks are Rosen’s, Tintinalli’s or this, Harwood & Nuss. While the other two texts focus on being the complete definitive text with comprehensive background information, H&N is far more streamlined and focused on the critical key content. The organization of the chapters is more logical and conforms to my thought process as a physician in the ED rather than an academic outline. It also feels more current to me, though I might just be reflecting on the style of the prose rather than the actual content.
